01. About the Photographers
WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I am currently based out of San Marcos, TX and travel often for weddings in Savannah, GA as well. I love the Texas Hill country and often shoot in Austin, New Braunfels, Gruene, Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Austin, and surrounding areas. I have photographed clients in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Utah, South Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, and Washington.
WHO WILL PHOTOGRAPH OUR WEDDING?
Me- Megan! I will be shooting your wedding. If your wedding package includes a second shooter, I have a number of trusted photographers I work with as well.
HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT OUR WEDDING?
All of our wedding packages with coverage of over 5 hours include two photographers in order to capture multiple perspectives, and different moments going on at the same time in different places. A second photographer can be added on to weddings with 5 hours of coverage or less for an additional cost.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Yes! I am here to celebrate and capture love! Because same-sex weddings can often times come with additional struggles, I do offer a discounted rate for same-sex weddings in order to make my couples’ wedding day and planning process as easy as possible.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with a Canon 6Dmk II and with a variety of lenses to ensure the right look for any situation. From primes, to macros, to zoom lenses, I have something for every situation. I also have multiple off-camera lights - from strobes to portable continuous lighting. I always bring back up cameras and equipment!
02. Receiving your Images
HOW WILL WE RECEIVE OUR IMAGES?
Your wedding images will be available on an online viewing gallery where you can download high-resolution images and to make your own prints or albums!
WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE OUR IMAGES?
Your wedding images will be available within 5-6 weeks of your wedding date.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE?
You can expect to receive at least 55 images for every hour of coverage. For engagements and bridal sessions, you can expect to receive at least 75 images.
WILL WE GET THE RIGHTS TO THE PHOTOS AFTER OUR WEDDING?
Yes! You will receive a personal use license which allows you to print and display your images wherever you choose for non-commercial purposes.
DO YOU DELIVER EVERY IMAGE YOU SHOOT?
No. Duplicates, blinking, and unflattering expressions are picked out and I deliver the best images! I do like to provide more images to you rather than less, because we all have different perspectives and I know that your opinion of the best photo may not always match up with ours. We take thousands of photos during a full wedding day and simply going through every image is an enormous task so I take the time to narrow down the best images!
DO YOU EDIT ALL OUR IMAGES?
Yes. I edit all of the images that I deliver you! My editing style aims to create a polished image that is bright, natural, and timeless looking. I don't want my editing style to be outdated and look "totally 2010's" 20 years from now! Editing mostly consists of color adjustments, contrast, brightness, and some minor touch-ups.
DO WE HAVE TO ORDER PRINTS THROUGH YOU?
No! I work with a professional print lab and the quality difference is huge compared to picking up prints from the local printer, so although I encourage you to print with a professional lab, it is not required. Be sure to bring a copy of your personal use license to the location you choose to print incase they ask! I can also recommend www.shutterfly.com and www.mpix.com for professional prints. Just be sure you don't choose "economy prints" and uncheck any boxes for automatic color correction or sharpening! :)
WILL YOU KEEP BACK-UPS OF OUR IMAGES FOR US? HOW CAN WE MAKE SURE THEY WONT BE LOST?
I will keep an archive of your wedding images for up to one year after the delivery date in case you need them again. Back up your images in multiple locations to ensure that you don't lose them! I am not responsible for keeping your photos archived for more than one year.
DO YOU OFFER WEDDING ALBUMS?
Yes! Albums are a fantastic way to have one special book that holds all the memories of your big day. Contact me for more information about albums.
03. Booking & Payment
HOW DO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET YOU AND LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW YOU WORK?
Contact me here and let me know that you are interested in meeting and we will schedule a date to talk on the phone, or get together over coffee or tea to talk all things wedding photography! I also like to use this time to talk about the way we work on the day of the wedding, and show you an example of a full wedding gallery. We will also go over what the contract would look like!
WE LIVE OUT OF TOWN AND WON'T BE ABLE TO MEET. IS THERE ANOTHER OPTION FOR US?
I like to meet with all my potential clients before booking to make sure we are on the same page and a good fit, however, I realize that not everyone can meet face-to-face. I can definitely schedule a phone conversation to talk wedding details and how it all works!
HOW DO WE RESERVE YOU FOR OUR WEDDING DATE?
In order to secure your wedding date, I require a non-refundable deposit and a signed contract confirming the details of our agreement. This deposit is 40% of the total and is NOT an addition to your wedding coverage cost. When you are ready to go through with the booking process, let me know and I will send the contract and invoice for the booking deposit your way!
WHAT IS THE WEDDING CONTRACT?
The wedding contract lays out all our agreed upon details for the wedding photography package. This includes the specifics of how I will deliver your images, when, in what format, your rights to the images, my rights to the images, and is made to protect both you and the photographers! It also confirms the date, hours of coverage, and pricing so everything is clear and agreed upon!
IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL FEE IF WE PAY BY CREDIT CARD?
No, there is not. I want to make payment easy and convenient for you!
IS THERE A TRAVEL FEE ASSOCIATED WITH OUR WEDDING DAY PHOTOGRAPHY?
Wedding venues that are further than 60 miles from Austin, TX or Savannah, GA may be subject to a travel fee. This fee covers additional gas and lodging for 1 night. Safety is of the upmost importance to me, and I plan to avoid long drives on dark roads during the late hours of the night ( weddings can often end at 11:00pm or later) after a full day of work.
However, I am excited to expand my travels to other states, so travel fees are waived on wedding packages of 8+ hours.
WHAT IF WE EXCEED OUR CONTRACTED TIME FOR WEDDING COVERAGE?
When our contracted hours are up, I will ask if you need any additional hours. We will be sure to talk at the wedding and confirm your decision at that time! We will discuss an hourly rate for additional hours in our contract at the time of booking.
IF WE CANCEL THE WEDDING, WILL WE RECEIVE OUR DEPOSIT BACK?
No. The booking deposit is to secure your wedding date, and I have to turn down other potential clients for that date.
IF WE CHANGE OUR WEDDING TO A DIFFERENT DATE, WILL WE BE ABLE TO USE OUR DEPOSIT TOWARDS A DIFFERENT DATE?
Generally, no, but this is decided on a case-by-case basis. Because I can not book other weddings on the old date, and have to turn down potential clients, I generally cannot put the deposit towards another date. However, the reason for canceling and whether or not we are available on the new date are both taken into account when making that decision.
